CALLING ALL BLAKERS- WE WANT YOU FOR DIGITAL LEARNING DAY!

Medfield’s 5th Annual Digital Learning Day Conference will be held on March 8th.

While it is a day off for students... it’s an entire professional development day of over 90 workshops of teachers teaching other teachers about how to use technology, good teaching practices, and ways to bring new ideas and creativity into their curriculum. Think: Google Everything!, iPad apps like Explain Everything, Book Creator, and Stop Motion to Coding, Makerspace fun, Design Thinking and much more! (Visit the Medfield Digital Learning Day website to see all of the offerings!)

We all know that students are the real experts, which is why we SO need their help to make our Digital Learning Day spectacular!

This year, you can VOLUNTEER AND/OR participate in our STUDENT INNOVATION SHOWCASE!

We need volunteers to help with:

  • Tech Support in the sessions/workshops

  • Help in the Makerspace with robots and other fun tinkering stations

  • Hallway Navigator

  • Social Media Ambassador

  • Photo Booth specialist

  • and more...

The entire day runs from 7:45-3:00. You may volunteer for the morning or afternoon or all day!

A delicious free pizza buffet lunch will be provided by Medfield Public Schools!

TO SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER: COMPLETE THIS VOLUNTEER GOOGLE FORM OR stop by to see Ms. Horvath with any questions.

WAIT THERE IS MORE!!

This Year, we're also looking for students to be apart of a new addition to Digital Learning Day called the Student Innovation Showcase! If you have a cool, innovative project that you've worked on for a class, at home, or for the Science Fair... Maybe it's an invention you've created, coded, built or designed then, consider showing it off at our Student Innovation Showcase!

--Here's how it will work!

  • Create a Posterboard to show what your project is about, the process in how you made it and what you have learned along the way. You will be assigned a table where you will set up your Posterboard and any other materials (iPads, Laptops, Printouts, anything, etc.),

  • You will need to prepare a 1 slide presentation for your 1 minute pitch that briefly describes your project to an audience.

--How does it work?

  • The Student Innovation Showcase will run from 10:30-11:30 in the High School LMC/Makerspace. Each Team/Student will give a 1 minute pitch about their project and then return to their Posterboard at their table to talk about their project as the audience/attendees come by to learn more!

  • That's it! Oh, there will be voting to see which project wins the title of Medfield's Student Innovator of the Year!

DID I MENTION THERE WILL BE A free pizza buffet lunch provided by Medfield Public Schools?!!!

Please fill out this SIGN UP form to be considered for the Student Innovation Showcase!

See Ms. Horvath with any questions!

Thank you!!
