MRS KNOTT'S ST. PATRICK'S FUN LMC CONTEST

TWO WAYS TO WIN - WRITE YOUR OWN LIMERICK OR FIND THE HIDDEN LMC SHAMROCKS!

What's a limerick you might ask? Well, a limerick is a humorous poem consisting of five lines. The first, second, and fifth lines must have seven to ten syllables while rhyming and having the same verbal rhythm. The third and fourth lines only have to have five to seven syllables, and have to rhyme with each other and have the same rhythm.

Sounds confusing, how about an example?

“Little Miss Muffet

Sat on a tuffet,

Eating her curds and whey;

Along came a spider,

Who sat down beside her

And frightened Miss Muffet away

Yes, Little Miss Muffet, which we all remember from childhood, is actually a limerick.

Here's another one:

There once was a turkey named Chummy, Mom thought that he might be quite yummy. He waddled away On Thanksgiving Day -- But still ended up in my tummy!

Have some fun, bring your limerick to the LMC, and win valuable prizes to boot!
